There has been going around online the results of a certain Al-Jazeera Online Poll. Interesting at best, much more haunting at worst, are the results.
Question: How do you consider executing Saddam on the first day of Eid Al-Adha?
Results:
It was an insult -- 92.6%
Cause for rejoicing by his victims -- 4.5%
It was a normal judicial matter -- 2.9%
Total Number of Votes: 16869.

It doesn't surprise me that people would take it so personally...but it does make me stop and think when that many people are insulted. On the other hand, I am keeping in mind that out of the 16,869 people who voted, the majority who would care enough to vote are the people who would be. Either way, it is a sobering thought.
